Definitions
Clearing transaction: A transaction extracted from the clearing file provided by the card scheme (e.g., Visa or Mastercard) and received through the processor.
Authorised transaction: The authorised transaction that the issuer recorded upon the initial authorisation request.
Primary automatic processing: Completing the clearing transaction by automatically linking the clearing transaction to the authorised transaction through an identical approval code (DE 38), generating an account transaction, and releasing the reservation.
Secondary processing options: This is the process of resolving unmatched clearing transactions in the primary matching process. Depending on the applied system configuration, the Tuum system will proceed with one of the following options:
Automated secondary processing: This will be performed when the system is configured to “Process non-match clearings automatically” as
Yes
(PROCESS_NON_MATCH_CLEARINGS = true
). Unmatched clearing transactions are completed automatically by generating an account transaction for each unmatched clearing transaction.Manual secondary processing: This will be performed when the system is configured to “Process non-match clearings automatically” as
No
(PROCESS_NON_MATCH_CLEARINGS = false
). Unmatched clearing transactions are completed by manually assigning the link to authorised transaction or finalising the transaction without authorisation link.
