Purpose code settings
The payment purpose code is a standardised identifier established by the relevant authority of a specific country. It categorises the reason or nature of a payment transaction and is determined using parameters such as:
the country of the account number;
currency; and
payment service provider.
Once configured, these codes would be automatically added to the payments matching with the particular drive code configuration.
Configure
Follow the instructions below to properly configure the purpose code settings for the payment API using the Tuum BackOffice interface.
Go to Payments > Settings > Settlement-apis.
From the content menu, go to Payment API settings > Purpose code settings.
The page either opens empty or shows a list of payment type rules that were set up before.

Click Add to start creating a new purpose code.

Enter and select the parameter values for the particular purpose code and click Submit.
