# Create loan contract credit note

The credit note functionality is used to correct errors in existing invoices, such as incorrect amounts. It allows you to adjust and reduce the amount of individual invoice lines.

To create a new credit note, follow these steps:

1. [Find the loan contract invoice](https://docs.tuum.com/backoffice-user-guides/66utMlu91IC8fCU3ps51/loan-guide/loan-contract/loan-contract-term-management/loan-contract-billing/loan-contract-invoices/search-loan-contract-invoice).
2. Click **Create credit note**.

3. The **Create credit note** modal opens.
4. Fill in the [credit note details](https://docs.tuum.com/backoffice-user-guides/66utMlu91IC8fCU3ps51/loan-guide/loan-contract/loan-contract-term-management/loan-contract-billing/loan-contract-invoices/create-loan-contract-credit-note/credit-note-parameters), then click **Create**.
